Australia visitor guidance for UAE residents

Australia Visa Biometrics UAE: Immi App or Centre?

Follow the biometrics instructions issued for your application. The UAE is an eligible Australian Immi App location, but app eligibility also requires a valid passport and a letter with a Visa Lodgement Number beginning AUI.

Read the letter before making an appointment

Your next step depends on the instructions addressed to you. Do not book a visit solely because another applicant attended a centre. Equally, do not assume an app will replace an appointment simply because you live in Dubai.

Check the applicant’s name, identifier, requested action and deadline. Keep the letter with the correct application folder. If you are helping several family members, make a separate action record for each person.

When can the Australian Immi App be used?

Home Affairs lists the UAE among eligible locations. Its app guidance also requires a valid passport and an eligible letter whose Visa Lodgement Number starts with AUI. Check all of those conditions, rather than relying on location alone.

Follow the official device and passport instructions. The process involves passport and identity checks; downloading the app is not proof that the request has been completed. Keep any available completion record with your application correspondence.

What if the number does not begin AUI?

Home Affairs directs applicants without an AUI-starting number to an Australian Biometrics Collection Centre. Follow the official letter and current centre instructions for the next steps. Do not change an identifier or use another family member’s reference to make an app flow proceed.

Before travelling to a centre, check the documents and appointment details in your instructions. Allow time to resolve uncertainty before the deadline. This page does not list live appointment availability or claim access to reserved slots.

Avoid mixing up identity checks and applications

The Australian Immi App is distinct from the Australian ETA app. One person may be completing a requested identity step while another is researching a visa application route. The similar names can cause confusion, especially when links are forwarded without context.

Use the official app guidance linked below. Avoid sending identity images to an unfamiliar intermediary who claims to complete the check for you. If an instruction is unclear or a technical problem persists, use the official support path.

What does completion mean for the decision?

A completed identity step is not a visa grant. Continue monitoring your application for messages and read the eventual decision separately. Keep the date of completion in your action log so you can distinguish what you have done from what remains pending.

If you need help understanding the sequence, share the type of request and deadline in your initial enquiry. Do not post passport pages, identifiers or a full letter in a public comment. Administrative help cannot waive an official request or guarantee a decision date.

Continue with the next step

For private document-preparation help, see our Australia visa assistance service or contact DreamSphere. Start with your nationality, UAE residence status, purpose and dates. Passport scans and financial records are not needed for an initial general enquiry.

Frequently asked questions

Use the current official instructions for your circumstances.

Can every UAE applicant use the Australian Immi App?

No. UAE location is only one condition. Check the valid-passport requirement and whether your letter’s Visa Lodgement Number begins AUI, alongside the current official instructions.

Does completing biometrics mean the visa is approved?

No. It completes an identity step. The visa decision is separate and must be read when issued.
